NJ Devils hosting Paramus non-profit in special night at the Rock

SHOUT OUT: A Paramus non-profit organization created by four dance moms who wanted to give back to their community will be the center of attention at an upcoming New Jersey Devils home game, thanks to a story on CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The Dancer’s Dream Fund will get a portion of ticket sales, along with proceeds from a 50/50 raffle, at the April 3 game against the Montreal Canadiens at The Prudential Center in Newark.

Tickets for the Friday night game are available at a discount through the fund — and come with a free gift from the Devils (see below).

A member of the Devils’ front office contacted the Dancer’s Dream Fund after seeing a Nov. 27 story last year: Paramus non-profit awards grants to local dancers

“We set up a meeting the following week, took a tour of The Prudential Center and then he extended the invitation to us,” said Monica Byrne, the fund’s president.

The Dancer’s Dream Fund raises money through various events, fundraising and direct contributions to help local disadvantaged children through scholarships, grants and programs “to fuel their love of dance and the performing arts,” Byrne said.

The Devils, through their Community Assist Program, highlights a local 501(c)3 organization during home games.

The non-profits are given space in the main concourse, where they can set up vendor’s boothes to distribute marketing materials. There’s also a public service announcement about the organization on the Jumbotron during the game.
