PARAMUS, N.J. -- Charles William Turner, 96, of Paramus, died Sunday, Oct. 30.
He resided in Little Ferry for 47 years before moving to Bald Eagle Commons in West Milford for 11 years. His final residence was Brookdale in Paramus, where he resided for six years.
Prior to retiring in 1982, he enjoyed a lengthy career in the banking industry in New York City. He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He traveled throughout Europe during his enlistment.
He and his wife Katie visited 48 of the 50 states.
He was predeceased by his wife, Katie (Beyer) Turner.
He is survived by his children, Barbara De Stefano and husband James, Debra Flower and husband Rich and Ronald Turner and wife Karen; grandchildren, Julie De Stefano, Tricia Lattimore and husband Adam, Kelli and Wendy De Stefano, Amanda Flower, Kathy, Robert and Michael Turner; and sister, Betty Berry.
A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home Inc., 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
