We arrived in Lima on Election Day, little did we know that the whole country was dry. On the whole weekend of the elections, liquor sales or consumption is prohibited in Peru. We settled for Inka Kola. It tastes like sweet bubblegum flavored Sprite. Photo Credit: Andrea Holmes

"We took a boat trip to Lake Titicaca and the floating reed islands, made and re-made from the totora , a cattail reed, and the home of the Uros tribe." Photo Credit: Andrea Holmes
"The 'totora' are dense roots support the top layer, which rots and must be replaced regularly by stacking more reeds on top of the layer beneath. The surface of the islands is uneven, thin it is like walking on a waterbed." Photo Credit: Andrea Holmes
