Learn Tips On Keeping Trees Healthy at Teaneck Creek Walk

TEANECK, N.J. -- The Teaneck Creek Conservancy will host a lecture and Q&A on drought and tree survival on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Teaneck Creek.

Ryan Duff, an arborist at Almstead Tree & Shrub Care, will lead the group on a park walk while discussing how to protect trees and landscape.

Discussion topics will include the following:

  • What you can do for your trees and landscape.
  • How to recognize a drought-distressed tree.
  • What to do if the tree is already drought stressed.
  • What to do to prevent drought stress in a trees.

Additionally, the lecture will provide helpful information about proper water for newly planted, mature trees, proper plant selection, a look ahead to future droughts and working with water restrictions, as well as how droughts can lead to further insect and disease issues.

The walk will begin at 5 p.m.
