Blissful Friday? Have Blankets Ready Saturday Morning, Meteorologist Warns

Don’t forget what month it is: The spring-like conditions that closed the work week in Bergen and Passaic are giving way to much colder temperatures -- part of a seasonal roller-coaster, meteorologist Joe Cioffi said Friday.

Expect to wake up Saturday to temps in the low-to-mid 40s – and even 30s – under a clear sky, Cioffi said.

“Sunday starts the trip back up as another warm front approaches and moves northward,” the popular New Jersey meteorologist said. “This will put us in clouds and an onshore flow and the chance for some passing showers.

“Saturday is definitely the better of the two weekend days,” he said

“This takes us to Monday with another cold front moving through, with highs reaching the upper 60s and lower 70s before the front passes," Cioffi said.

Then comes cold rain Tuesday with temperatures barely reaching 50 degrees – setting the tone for the rest of the week, he said.

How could it get? How about the 20s – or maybe even teens(!) -- next Friday and Saturday, Cioffi said.
