Norwood Girls Softball Team Wins Northern Valley Tournament NORWOOD, N.J. — The third and fourth grade Norwood girls softball team topped Northvale 8-5 on Sunday to win the Northern Valley Softball League tournament. The girls defeated Tri Town earlier in the day to advance to the finals. The team is comprised of Samantha Kranzler, Kailey O'Sullivan, Jahnavi Vaghasia, Victoria Viganola, Sophia Gillon, Reese Wilson, Amelia Plescia, Manda Lee, Nina Constantino, Rielly Hamilton, Rowan Leddy, Sage Klein and Alexa Petrone. The team is coached by Mark Plescia and assistant coaches Kevin Wilson, Anthony Viganola and Brian Hamilton.

Fort Lee Library Receives Donation Of Kindle Fire Tablets FORT LEE, N.J. — Fort Lee Library Director Chris Yurgelonis honored Jongho Hwang, president of the PI Art Center in town, with a plaque of appreciation for his donation of five Kindle Fire tablets to the library during a ceremony at Borough Hall. Lyndhurst Mayor Awards Scholarships To Five High School Seniors LYNDHURST, N.J. — Lyndhurst Mayor Robert Giangeruso awarded five high school seniors $500 scholarships each for academic achievement. The Mayor Robert B. Giangeruso scholarships were awarded during the John C. MacLean Awards ceremony Wednesday night at Lyndhurst High School. The recipients: Lindsay Henning Evangelia Pelidis Nicole Plonski Ashley Stephens Estela Vazquez Each student also received a medal of recognition. Fees paid to the mayor to conduct marriage ceremonies fund the scholarships.
