PARAMUS, N.J. -- Several Frisch students spent a long Shabbat weekend at Yale University to participate in the Math Majors of America Tournament for High Schools annual competition.

The exam was given on a Saturday but thanks to the efforts of a couple of enterprising Yale students, observant day school students were able to take the exam on Sunday.

In the first round of the competition, students worked individually and had 75 minutes to answer twelve questions. The second round featured teams that were tasked with answering 12 problems in a 75 minutes window.

The final round was the “Mathathon," with the original school team working as a group on seven problems sets, each consisting of three questions. After completing a problem set, a runner brought up the team’s answers and got the next set of questions.
