The first was around 2 p.m. yesterday on Route 4 near East 54th Street and led to the seizure of 10 bags of heroin, a small amount of crack, several hypodermic syringes, and other drug paraphernalia, Police Chief Michael Foligno said.

Arrested and released with summonses to appear in Municipal Court to answer drug charges were three Rockland residents:

Christian Mackinnon, 23, of Piermont;
Joseph Castleton, 22, of Orangeburg;
Christopher Houser, 21, of Nyack

At 6:45 p.m., officers stopped another vehicle on Locust Street and River Drive and turned up 20 bags of heroin, two bags of cocaine and assorted drug paraphernalia, Foligno said.

Charged via a summons and released pending a court hearing was 27-year-old James Mara of Oradell.

These follow a similar stop and arrest on Route 4 Monday night of a 24-year-old Valley Cottage man who the chief said had 20 bags of heroin. READ MORE….
