Officer Stephen McAllister pulled the car over for careless driving and a broken taillight on westbound Route 46 around 1 a.m. and found 39-year-old Matthew D. Perkins carrying the Ruger and 150 rounds of hollow points for it, Capt. Robert Kaiser told Daily Voice.

He also had 450 rounds of rifle ammo and two gravity knives, the captain said.

Perkins was ordered held in the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing on weapons and ammo possession charges.
