Previously No. 87, River Edge "has an emergency alert system, Swift911, that is available to all residents," Safewise.com reports. "It serves as an instantaneous message board when a natural disaster or local crime occurs."

The website also cites the Senior Bus Office, which "gives rides to seniors, so they can get around town safely."

Safewise compiled crime statistics from the FBI and conducted its own research on public safety public health, and educational offerings to determine its rankings.
