Prosecutor: North Carolina Man Has $100,000 Worth Of Heroin In Paramus Stop

PARAMUS, N.J. -- A North Carolina passenger was found with more than two pounds of heroin worth $100,000 on the street following a Route 4 traffic stop in Paramus.

Authorities stopped the car Sunday on the westbound highway and found the drug in a bag they said belonged to Ramon Serna, 38, of Henderson, N.C., acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said Monday.

Serna was being held on $150,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with large-quantity possession of heroin for sale.

Participating in the investigation with Grewal's detectives were Paramus police and agents from the Department of Homeland Security, the prosecutor said.

No mention was made of what happened to the driver.
