Paramus police bust two at mall on heroin, pot charges

CLIFFVIEW PILOT HAS IT FIRST: It was an otherwise routine cruise through the Garden State Plaza parking lot when a white Infiniti QX5 caught the attention of Paramus Police Officers Robert Brack and Keith Bland. Moments later, a couple was in custody, charged with having 40 bags of heroin, some pocket and several thousand dollars in bundled cash.

Brack and Brand “immediately smelled the odor of burnt marijuana” as they neared the car.

As they spoke to the couple, they saw several small heroin packets out in the open, Detective Capt. Kenneth R. Ehrenberg said.

They immediately took Ashlin Beatty, 26, and Terence Robles, 25, of East Orange into custody, then recovered the drugs and the cash — which will remain stored as evidence for now.

Both were charged with drug offenses and released, pending a Municipal Court hearing.
