Paramus DPW worker clipped by SUV

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A Paramus DPW worker’s left foot was hit by a passing SUV as he got out of his garbage truck this morning, sending him to the hospital with an ankle injury, police said.

Homer Wilins III, 40,  was struck by a 2008 Honda Odyssey’s passenger-side tire near the intersection of Concord Drive and Budd Road just before 8 a.m., Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said.

Wilins was being treated for an ankle injury at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, the chief said.

Although no sumumonses were immediately issued to the 52-year-old Paramus driver, the incident was being investigated, Ehrenberg said.
