FORT LEE, N.J. -- A wanted Georgia motorist driving an unregistered and uninsured car without a license was smoking pot and carrying hollow-point bullets when he was stopped at the George Washington Bridge, Port Authority police said.

PAPD officers stopped the 2011 Honda at the toll plaza Tuesday night because it didn't have a front license plate, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo said.

"When the driver opened his window to speak to the officer, a strong smell of marijuana came from inside the car," he said.

The driver, 38-year-old Kareo S. Coger of Macon, GA, had no paperwork for himself or the vehicle, Pentangelo said.

Coger admitted he had pot in the car and handed it over, he said.

Officers who arrested him found a firearm magazine containing five bullets, three of them hollow points, Pentangelo said.

They also found an extradition warrant out of Georgia, he said.

Coger was being held pending extradition proceedings. Port Authority police charged him with drug and ammunition possession counts while issuing him several summonses.
