A former Exxon employee with a handgun is holding police at bay in the company’s Paramus office at 11 Sunflower Avenue. There are no hostages and he hasn’t yet made contact with police, although he’s spoken with his former boss and others,

“W e’re not sure what his demands are,” the source said. “I don’t know if he knows yet.”
A SWAT team, K9 squad and negotiator are all on the scene. The building, which has a Prudential sign out front, is on a dead end off Route 17 near the Popeye’s restaurant. It houses several different offices.
