YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A former Paramus resident shot and killed himself in Petruska Park this afternoon, police said.
The 56-year-old man’s body was found, along with the gun, around 4:25 p.m. in a wooded area near a walking path of the Farview Avenue park, Paramus Police Chief Kenneth R. Ehrenberg said tonight.
Police immediately closed the park, allowing in only parents who had come to pick up their children after a day trip.
“There does not appear to be any foul play at this time but the case is still under investigation,” said Ehrenberg, who said the man had moved to New York State.
