Florida man, 61, brought to Bergen to face charges of having sex with Englewood girl

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: An ex-con from Florida accused of having sex with an Englewood girl for two years, beginning when she was 9, was brought to New Jersey yesterday after being extradited.

The victim’s father recently discovered Internet communications between the girl, who is now 15, and 61-year-old Victor Scott, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said a week ago.

After being contacted by the father, members of Molinelli’s Special Victims Unit and Englewood police interviewed the girl at his office in Paramus, the prosecutor said.

She “provided specific details regarding what had occurred,” he said.

Investigators contacted the Polk County Sheriff’s Department in Florida, which assisted in Scott’s arrest a week ago yesterday in Lakeland.

The 5-foot-10 inch, 158-pound Scott, who is single and unemployed, was being held in the Bergen County Jail pending a bail hearing on charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and child endangerment.
