UPDATE: Mark Schlegel Remembered As "Prince Among Men"

The body of Mark Schlegel, who'd gone missing Aug. 13, "had been there for awhile," a law enforcement official said.

Given the body's condition, an autopsy by the Bergen County Medical Examiner would have to officially determine the cause of death, another said.

However, the veteran investigator said: "We're not sure if it was pills or what, but it isn't suspicious."

Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino confirmed the afternoon discovery -- between two Kinderkamack Road driveways near the foot of Soldier Hill Road, six blocks from his home -- for Daily Voice (see map above).

The sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification unit joined the Bergen County Prosecutor's Crime Scene van, local police and other members of the search team at the scene.

Search teams descended on Oradell and surrounding towns on Thursday seeking clues to the disappearance of the 57-year-old talent agent.

Schlegel, who works for Manhattan-based Cornerstone Talent, had returned from a family trip to Scotland days before he left his house following an argument with his wife, authorities said.

He was last seen walking toward Soldier Hill Road around 3:30 p.m. Aug. 13 wearing a white collared shirt, light-colored shorts and boat shoes.
