Route 4 Rollover Victims ID'd As Garfield Teen Athlete, Best Friend

GARFIELD, N.J. – Jennah DiSclafani, a 2017 Garfield High School graduate, died in a motor vehicle accident early Sunday morning.

A vigil was held Sunday night for DiScalfani and her best friend Mariah Gomez, 20, of Garfield, who also died in the accident, according to multiple media reports.

The driver in the crash was charged Monday with two counts of death by auto and DWI, authorities announced.

DiScalfani, 19, excelled in track and was a cheerleader and softball player, reports say.

Visitation for DiSclafani will be held on Wednesday, August 30 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., in Garfield. A memorial service will be held Thursday, with people arriving at the funeral home at 8 a.m., followed by a 9:30 a.m. mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Garfield.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help DiScalfani’s family with funeral expenses.

“Please help us help this beautiful family bury their daughter,” the page states.
