Robert W. Forsyth Jr., 75, Former River Edge Resident

WYCKOFF, N.J. -- Robert W. Forsyth Jr., of Wyckoff, died on Saturday, Dec. 31. He was 75.

Forsyth grew up in Hackensack and River Edge, and he's lived in Wyckoff for the past 30 years. He served in the Marine Corps as a captain, and he was a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War.

He then went on to be a pilot with TWA for 35 years, before he retired.

Forsyth is survived by his sons, Jeffrey and Andrew; fiancé Selma Alaimo; and siblings Bonnie Shallcross, Laura Mullen, James Forsyth and Ellen Johnson.

He was predeceased by his wife, Karen Mae.

A memorial service was held on Thursday evening, Jan. 5, at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, in Wyckoff.
