Robert Mancuso, 85, Longtime River Edge Resident

RIVER EDGE, N.J. -- Robert Mancuso, a longtime resident of River Edge, died on Tuesday, March 7. He was 85.

Mancuso was a devoted member of St. Peter the Apostle Church for over 57 years. He was a proud member of the River Edge Police Reserve for over 40 years, where he served two terms as captain. 

He also served as a court officer for the town. Before he retired, he worked for A&P for 43 years, as manager of the meat department and supervisor.

Mancuso is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gloria; children Robert Mancuso and his wife Sherry, Thomas Mancuso and his husband Brian Duarte, John Mancuso and his wife Lia, and Bethann Velez and her husband Wilson; grandchildren Joann, Rebecca, John, Robert, Michael, Tina and R.J.; and great-grandson Nicholas. 

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, March 10, at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Rd., in Oradell. A mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Peter the Apostle Church, meeting directly at the church. Interment will follow, at St. Raymond's Cemetery, in the Bronx.
