Lydia LaVoie of Paramus

PARAMUS, N.J. -- Lydia (Hyman) LaVoie died on Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Before retiring, LaVoie worked for the Cliffside Park Board of Education as a teacher. She was also the court interpreter for the Paramus Police Dept., Paramus Municipal Court and served on the Environmental Commission for Paramus. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church in Paramus and also attended the Mission Church in Paramus.

LaVoie was predeceased by her husband Edgar LaVoie and her brother Argo Alberto Hyman. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Martino and her husband Joseph of Fair Lawn; granddaughters Anastasia, Analisa and Anabella; siblings Lethia Hyman, Linda Segura, Lana Hyman, Argo Jose Hyman, Jr. and Argo Antonio Hyman.

Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Ave., Paramus, handled arrangements.
