ORADELL, N.J. – Letitia LaForgia, of Oradell and formerly of Jersey City, died on Dec. 31. She was 82.
She worked as a registered nurse at Bergen Regional Medical Center after returning to school to get her nursing degree.
LaForgia was predeceased by her husband Rocco, her son in law Thomas Van Valkenburgh and brother Peter Buonocore.
She is survived by four children, Letitia and her husband Terrance Burke of Waldwick, Linda Van Valkenburgh, Rocco LaForgia of Dallas, Lisa and her husband James Hastings of Pearl River, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, two sisters, Katherine Bounds of River Edge, Rosmary Musano and brother Ernie Buonocore.
Visiting hours are on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, located at 268 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell.
A mass of Christian burial will be on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s RC Church in Oradell. Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City.
