PARAMUS, N.J. -- Kathryn A. Ritchie, 87, of Paramus, died Sept. 3. She was 87.
Ritchie was born July 7, 1929.
She attended Elmira College in Elmira, N.Y., where she received a B.A. in English and history. She is a member of Phi Betta Kappa Society.
After college, she started her career in New York City, first, with New Yorker Magazine. She then went to work for Whitney Communications, where she was the executive assistant to John Hay Whitney and, later, Mrs. John Hay Whitney. She also was the assistant secretary for the Whitney family’s Greentree Foundation.
Ritchie also was a member of the Seraphic Society and a former member of The Bay Head Yacht Club and the North Jersey Country Club.
She is survived by her cousins, Fred D. Hoff, Joanne H. Naylor, Susan H. Tuohy and Fred D. Hoff Jr.
