ORADELL, N.J. -- Josephine Edson Holt died from heart and lung complications Saturday, Aug 6.
She had brightened the halls of the Oradell Healthcare Center with her smile, laughter and hugs for several years and will be sorely missed by her family and by the staff and residents there.
She was the second of three daughters of Kay and Jack Edson (whom people still remember as the founders of the Ridgewood Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Co.) and sang with the group for many years.
She is survived by her two sisters, Barbra Lewis of Bristol, R.I. and Marjory Lewis of Palm Springs, Calif.; five nieces and nephews, Theresa Lewis, Nancy July Lewis, Gregory Perrine, Randall Perrine and Kristen Chambers; and five great-nephews and great-nieces.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday at the nursing home, 600 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to any charity that supports the developmentally disabled.
