PARAMUS, N.J. -- Joseph "Len" Giardelli, of Paramus, died Feb 8. He was 91.
Before retiring, Giardelli was as a photographer for the Bergen Record, in Hackensack.
He had served in the South Pacific and China during World War II with the 3rd Marines, and he was a Purple Heart recipient. He was also a member of VFW Post 6699, in Paramus.
Giardelli is survived by his children, Richard Giardelli and his wife Daria of Clifton, Glen Giardelli and his husband Jim of Los Angeles, and Corinne Herbst and her husband Seth of Monroe, New York; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his wife, Marion (Grigoli) Giardelli.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Ave., in Paramus. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in George Washington Memorial Park, in Paramus.
