PARAMUS, N.J. — A neurologist with an office in Paramus is facing up to five years in prison and a fine of nearly $15,000 as the latest to be charged in a statewide kickback crackdown, Attorney General Office announced Wednesday.

Terry Ramnanan, 64, of Upper Saddle River, faces charges of third-degree conspiracy and commercial bribery after being accused of paying illegal kickbacks to a chiropractor, in exchange for patient referrals, according to a press release.

Ramnan, of Interventional Spine and Pain, allegedly paid Totowa chiropractor for Ronald Hayek of Totowa for patient referrals from January 2012 though April 2016.

Last year, Hayek admitted to accepting thousands of dollars in kickbacks in exchange for patient referrals.
