Bad Girls Good Deeds is staging the charity event for 37-year-old Mary Rodriguez, who suffered from blood clots, strokes, seizures and organ failure a year before being diagnosed with Catastrophic Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome (CAPS).

Rodriguez needs as much financial help as she does medical.

Enter, Bad Girls Good Deeds, a non-profit organization run by four female educators and innovators who organize fundraisers.

"The members of our group all have difficult times in our lives when we received support from family and friends," Bad Girls member Caryn Christiano said.

"We started this organization as a way to give back and to help families like ours, who don't already get money from the government or other agency," she said.

Having an autistic boy is what Christiano said taught her to have compassion for other families.

"I've received various donations towards autism research and Bad Girls Good Deeds helped me raise $1,000," she said."Paying it forward is a lesson we can teach our children. With all that is happening in the world today, making one family happy for the holiday season is a priceless gift."

Rodriguez has been receiving treatment and has begun breathing on her own again.

"There's no known cure and — due to insurance — she's been moved to her home with outpatient services and the amount of medical bills has been overwhelming," Bad Girls Good Deeds wrote on its website.

The fundraiser will be at the Grace Lutheran Church, 925 Fifth Ave., River Edge. There will be two 75-minute sessions, one at 9 a.m. and the other at 10:45 a.m. They will include a photo with Santa, face painting ad door prizes.

COST: $20 a person.
