PARAMUS, N.J. -- Edward Babilot, a longtime Paramus resident, was recently honored for his 450th donation at the Paramus Donor Center.
Babilot had also been a longtime volunteer at Community Blood Services. He began donating in New York City in 1959, when he was working at the New York Central Railroad — "back when you could donate and get the rest of the day off with pay as thanks for your donation," according to a news release from Community Blood Services.
“Everyone should donate. It’s just the right thing to do,” said Babilot, who initially donated whole blood but became a regular platelet donor in 1996.
Community Blood Services offered its hearty thank you to Babilot for his "generous spirit and dedication."
