PARAMUS, N.J. — A North Jersey couple who met years ago at Paramus Catholic High School said they got lucky in Las Vegas, in a very unfortunate way.
Valdo Panzera Jr. and Megan Iannuzzi were at the Harvest Festival Sunday when Stephen Paddock opened firing, killing 59 and inuring 527 Sunday evening, NorthJersey.com reports.
Panzera, 30, of North Haledon said he was visiting Ianuzzi, 29, who lives near the Vegas Strip in Nevada, the article says.
Though they escaped death and injury, the two say they can't escape what they saw and heard.
