"Magic on the Diamond" by Oradell resident Antoinette Rainone is part of author Amy Newmark's "Chicken Soup for the Soup: The Spirit of America" published in June by Simon & Schuster.

Contributing author Rainone will sign books and speak at Shaw’s from 6-7:30 p.m. Proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit Oradell Little League and the Bob Woodruff Foundation and its Stand Up for Heroes fundraising program for wounded, ill and injured U.S. veterans and their families.

Rainone's story about an Oradell Little League championship game is one of the 101 stories in "Chicken Soup for the Soul: Spirit of America."

Her story revolves around the last inning of her son's Little League game. Her son’s team was losing 8-4 and as parents started packing it in, the scoreboard started changing.

Rainone has been a journalist for 30 years and has won numerous awards for her commentaries published in The Record and Town News.

As a contributing writer for Guideposts magazine, her articles have reached over 7 million readers around the world.

In her blog “Find Your Wings — At Any Age” she encourages readers to live their dreams.

She is currently working on a coming-of-age memoir — “It’s a Brand-new Ball Game”— about bonding with her father during the 1978 Yankee season when she learned comebacks are possible — in baseball — and life.
