The initiative “is a county-wide program which aims to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness,” said Saddle Brook Mayor Robert White.

“We will now be dedicated to raising awareness of the disease of mental illness and creating a culture wherein residents who have the disease feel supported by the township. We also want our residents to seek treatment for the disease without fear of stigma,” he said.

Saddle Brook joins about 50 other Bergen County municipalities who have already become part of the program.
