PARAMUS, N.J. – “Backstage” in Paramus will feature Twinkle and Friends on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Westfield Garden State Plaza.
Twinkle and her friends bring a colorful, high-energy pop concert fusing education, language, arts and pop culture into the hottest kid's phenomenon. Complimentary performances will take place at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. in the Macy’s Court on Level 2.
Twinkle, also known as Alitzah, is a California native who began performing at 8 years old in numerous musical productions, voiceovers and commercials. As a tween, she became a series regular in the first Spanish family comedy “Sanchez of Bel Air” for the USA network and recurred on NBC's “My 2 Dads.”
Twinkle was a member of Nobody's Angel, an all-girl singing group signed to Hollywood Records. After releasing its debut album in 2000, the group opened for Britney Spears and The Backstreet Boys and sang on movie soundtracks such as “Parent Trap,” “Pokemon,” “The Wedding Planner” and “102 Dalmatians.”
In 2002, the girls earned a gold record for two of their songs on the “Princess Diaries” soundtrack. Now, Peruvian-American Alitzah is rocking the children's entertainment world as Twinkle with her show Twinkle Time.
“I want to be like Oprah for the children's market! I realized that kids and parents were listening to the same kid songs that I grew up with. I wanted to hear new sounds, you know, change up the vibe of the kids market,” said Twinkle.
Westfield Garden State Plaza and BergenPAC presents Backstage, complimentary family performances the second Saturday of every month.
