PARAMUS, N. J. -- Plans are under way for The Terri Roemer Paramus Run, which includes 10K and 5K runs, a 5K health walk and a 1-mile fun run for kids, on Oct. 16 at Fairfield Inn and Suites in Paramus.
Coordinated by Paramus residents along with the Paramus board of education, board of recreation and other organizatios, the 38th annual event is a fundraiser for the Paramus Scholarship Fund.
The event is sanctioned and certified by USA Track and Field. Both the Marty Roemer Memorial 10K and Lou Lanzalotto 5K runs start and finish at the Paramus Park Shopping Center, and include scenic courses through local neighborhoods.
Both races are also timed, and include water stations, traffic control and first aid coverage. It all starts with check-in and registration at 7:30 a.m. and the 10K race takes off at 9:05 a.m.
The 5K starts at 11:15 a.m., followed by the health walk and run run. Each race is followed by an awards ceremony, and awards are given to the top runners in more than a dozen age categories.
At 11 a.m., the annual Post-Race Party begins with food, music, games and more.
